April 1, 2014 Dear Parents, There will be no new words for this week.

On Thursday we will have a Spelling Bee with Word Wall words and words taken from the Spelling Challenge book. However there will be a Math homework packet focusing on our new unit of studyFractions and equal parts of a whole and of sets. During this week we will be finishing with our Science/Health unit on learning about our body and good nutrition. When we return from Spring Break I will be integrating Reading and Language Arts with our Science themes of Rocks and Soil and Animals and the different habitats/biomes. As part of the Science theme on animals and their habitat your child will need to pick an animal they want to research and gather information about the animal. Please help your child choose an animal they have not studied before and start gathering information including that animals habitat/biome. I am sending home a graphic organizer and questions to help your child focus on researching facts about the animal. Parts of this final project will include a report, a diorama, and an oral presentation. The animal project will be due May 9th.
