net March 17, 2014 CCSD Human Resources: Please accept my application as a secondary biological sciences teacher for the Clark County School District. I have recently graduated from Nevada State College with a B.S. degree in Secondary Education focusing on a concentration in biology. I am excited to finally use my passion for science and experience in education in my own classroom. I completed my student teaching at Basic High School where I taught biology to both honors and regular students. Teaching to students who were at opposite ends of the spectrum allowed me to become resourceful, patient, and understanding of the different types of students I may encounter in my teaching career. During my student teaching, I received high marks from both my cooperating teacher and advisor in areas such as classroom management, preparedness, lesson plan creativity, and teacher to student rapport. I would love to become a part of the Clark County School District. I am a hard working, go-getter who understands the importance of education. It is my goal to open childrens minds to science. I want them to learn about themselves, the world, and the universe. I understand how important teachers are and how much influence they have on students, and I know I am that positive role model. Thank you so much for the opportunity to work in a district that I have called home for over two decades. I would appreciate an interview so I could have the chance to create a generation of science literate young people. Respectfully Yours, Kristen N. Strader
