Chassis and Design

Introduction
The Objective of the SUPRA SAEINDIA 2015 competition is to challenge student teams to conceive, design, fabricate and compete with their own small, formula style, autocross racing cars. Thus for the chassis team, we had to prepare a complete design of the roll cage including the following components: Parts: Roll hoops Main Hoop A roll bar located alongside or just behind the drivers torso Front Hoop-A roll bar located above the drivers legs, in proximity to the steering wheel Roll hoop brazing support The structure from the lower end of roll hoops bracing back to the roll hoop. Frame member A minimum representative single piece of uncut, continuous tubing. Front bulkhead A planar structure that defines the forward plane of the major structure of the frame Impact attenuator- A deformable , energy absorbing device located forward the front bulk head Side impact zone Another deformable member of the roll cage to prevent the impact from the sides of the roll cage. Frame : It is the fabricated structural assembly that support all functional vehicle systems.
