edu Fresh Campus/SmokingWords Awarded $250 to Support Kick Butts Day Activities LSU, BATON ROUGE, LA, Feb. 26, 2014 - Fresh Campus/SmokingWords student organization has been awarded $250 to support Kick Butts Day activities. This event will celebrate Kick Butts Day and LSUs progress toward becoming a smoke-free campus. A tailgate to support Kick Butts Day will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. March 19 on the patio of the Journalism Building. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Holliday Forum. Manship School PR students are combining with the Fresh Campus/SmokingWords student organization to host a tailgate catered by Walk-Ons. This event will be tied to the LSU baseball game, taking place at 6:30 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium. The tailgate will host a special guest, Rintey A. Castine, Associate Director, Youth Advocacy for the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and a Southern University graduate. This event will be memorable and educational for students. Derick Bercegeay, Fresh Campus/SmokingWords acting president, said, What could be better than celebrating LSUs progress toward becoming a smoke-free campus with free food from Walk-Ons? We thank Tobacco-Free Kids for supporting Fresh Campus efforts. LSU Fresh Campus has ties to the state Fresh Campus program. Fresh Campus is working to make LSU a tobacco-free campus. The Tobacco-Free Kids organization is a leading force in the fight to reduce the toll tobacco use takes around the world. Kick Butts Day is a national day of involvement that encourages youth to stand up, speak out and gain control against Tobacco.
