Brain Storm| When given a three dimensional object, you will brainstorm on how we can find the surface area of this object. This will tap into your prior knowledge of how to find the area of any two dimensional shape. Questions to Check for Understanding| Students will communicate with each other and the teacher to come up with ways that we can use the volume and surface area of objects in the real world. Flashcards| Students will have all of the formulas for different shapes volume and surface areas on flashcards to help them memorize them. Critical Thinking Question| Students will work with a group to try and find the volume or surface area of a real building or object that is assigned to them. Quiz| Students will take a short quiz to assess their understanding of volume and surface area thus far Test| Students will take a formal, written exam that will assess their knowledge and understanding of finding the volume and surface area of different three dimensional objects.
