One of the most important parts of the fall of Rome was the political corruption.

One of the problems that took place in the area of Political Corruption. One way this problem could have been prevented is to give the Senate or another political body the right to choose the next emperor. This would have caused the fighting for the throne to have been less of a problem. nother way that this problem could be fixed was that the !mperor must have a list of heirs that would be the line of succession if the Senate were indecisive. lso" at the time when the empire dies both the emperor#s guard and the army are loyal to the Senate. That will keep the peace until they can find another emperor to take over. nother important thing that could solve having $% emperors in a &''(year time" was to give the army no power to elect the emperor. )n the time of Rome" the army would sell out the throne to the highest bidder. Rome fell hard and fast. To prevent political corruption in my civili*ation" ) will first not let too much power get into the hands of any person. One way ) will do this is by not allowing any one general to command more than + of the army. lso" there will be a group of politicians who have been approved to rule by both the Senate and ssembly that could then take the position of elder" the main rulers" if he died and already shared much power with the elders. lso" all generals" high ,udges" and top level executive politicians must be high magistrates and can be removed from their position if either the Senate or ssembly has any second thoughts about them" then they will immediately be removed unless they are one of the elders. ) also will have political conventions if there is discontent with the political system where all of the ssembly" Senate" -igh .agistrates" and elders meet in the senate s/uare and can0t leave until the elders have created a decree that they all can agree on to solve the problem. )n these conventions" with no ma,or opposition" are the only way ma,or laws or the constitution can be changed. )f we follow these rules" my civili*ation will thrive for many years
