Alexander Eugene Johnson Listoe One of the most colorful members of my family that I have found in my research so far is great grandfather. He is colorful not in a crazy way but in an amazing way. His name is ~lexander Eugene Johnson Listoe and was born in Minnesota. I could not find much information on him from birth until records were produced in Washington, DC. While in Washington, DC, he attended medical school at Georgetown University where he was the youngest student to graduate. After graduation and marrying Blanche Edwards on July 12, 1917, he joined the army ~~_a_n_d_s_erv_e_d_a_s_~-.....aoct{) Alexander was a doctor during World War I when poisonous (mustard) ~ gasses were used. He saw many cases of what the gas would do to a person but one day his unit came under attack by the Germans who used mustard gas on them. Alexander being a doctor was

concerned for his unit's safety, he took off his gas mask and gave it to one of his patients. He kept the soldier safe but put his own life in danger. He couldn't help but breath in the poisonous gas which damaged his lungs permanently. /\ Even though he was not weird or "colorful" I feel that he is a hero and that is what makes him colorful in my eyes. He was brilliant which he proved to everyone by being the youngest

placing it on a patient to keep their illnesses from getting worse. All in all I think he was an amazing person and is the most colorful person that I have found in my research so far.
