Getting Started
Thank you for your interest in the qdspray sink-connected sprayer, a
versatile home cleaning tool! The following features are standard in
every unit:
Spray head with hose and snap coupling
Quick disconnect faucet adapter
Rubber washers (gaskets)

All hoses and fittings are food grade and conform to the latest
standards for potable water. Clamps are stainless steel and rated for
use in wet locations. The sprayer arrives fully assembled (8 foot
option shown above). The faucet adapter and rubber gaskets come
coupled to the hose to ease the installation process. Additional
adapters can be included with your order based on the type of faucet
you want to attach it to (Standard aerator or Cache aerator).

Warnings
Water Temperature
The qdspray sink-connected sprayer is designed to allow the
user access to the full range of temperatures available from their
faucet. Always check the temperature of the water before spraying
anything living (babies, pets, plants, etc.). Failure to do so could result
in scalding depending on the water heater temperature setting in the
home.

Water Pressure
Once the faucet is turned on, the sprayer line will pressurize to
the line pressure of the home plumbing system. Do not try to
disconnect the hose from the faucet without first turning off the water
and depressurizing the hose. See the Usage section, Step 4 on
pg.26 for the proper disconnect procedure. Failure to do so could
result in a wet bathroom counter top or worse (wet pants).

Legal Liability
The user assumes any and all risk associated with the use of
this product. The manufacturer will not be held liable for any physical
harm or property damage arising from the use of this product. By
purchasing this product, you agree to these terms of use.

Will It Fit?

The qdspray sink-connected sprayer will connect to the vast majority

of residential faucets; however, not all faucet types are compatible
with the sprayer. In order to determine compatibility, remove the
existing faucet aerator. Any faucet with no aerator or a nonremovable aerator is incompatible with the sprayer. Some newer
style faucets utilize Cache aerators that require special keys to remove
(see bottom left for sample key). AS OF AUGUST 2015, OUR SPRAYER
IS COMPATIBLE WITH CACHE FAUCETS. If the bottom of your faucet
looks like the picture on the bottom right, you have a cache insert and
will need a cache adapter (sold separately) in order to connect the
sprayer. The Sizing sections will guide you through the process of
removing your aerator and selecting the correct adapter (see pg.4 for
Standard, pg.13 for Cache).

-3-

Standard Aerator
Sizing1) Remove existing faucet aerator.

-4-

Pliers may be needed to loosen the aerator initially if it has been in the
faucet for a long time. If you are concerned about marring the
aerator, we have a special aerator wrench (AW) available for purchase
that will allow you to remove regular and junior size aerators without
damaging them.

-5-

2) Use pocket change to determine the size of the aerator housing. Be

sure to remove any rubber gaskets, screens and diffusers from the
housing.

A nickel will sit perfectly on top of a regular size aerator (15/16-27-M

or 55/64-27-F, if you want to compare at your local hardware store).
If you have a regular size aerator, you do NOT need any additional
hardware to install the qdspray, and you do NOT need to continue to
step 3. A dime will just fit inside of a junior size aerator (13/16-27-M
or 3/4-27-F). If you have a junior size aerator, you NEED an adapter
to install the sprayer. To specify the correct adapter when you order,
continue to step 3 to determine the gender of your aerator. If you
have a standard aerator that does not match one of these two sizes,
we do not supply a connection option for you at this time.

-6-

3) Use the pictures below to determine the gender of your aerator.

This step is not necessary if you have a regular size aerator (see step
2).

A female aerator has threads on the inside of the housing and they fit
together with the threads on the outside of the male spout (shown on
left, JA1 adapter required). A male aerator has threads on the outside
of the housing and they fit together with the threads on the inside of
the female spout (shown on right, JA2 adapter required). The junior
size adapters are sold separately and are not included in the sprayer
base models. Thank you for doing your homework! It saves you
money and keeps valuable resources from ending up in landfills
unecessarily.

-7-

Installation
1) Disconnect the faucet adapter from the spray hose coupling.

Hold the hose and coupling in one hand as shown above. Using the
thumb and index finger, pull back the coupling slip collar. With the
opposite hand, pull the chrome faucet adapter from the coupling.

-8-

2) Remove existing faucet aerator.

Pliers may be needed to loosen the aerator initially if it has been in the
faucet for a long time. If you are concerned about marring the
aerator, we have a special aerator wrench (AW) available for purchase
that will not damage the aerator.

-9-

3) Remove any existing rubber gaskets, screens, etc. from the faucet.

Use a finger to make sure there are no rubber gaskets or aerator

hardware left inside the faucet. This could impede proper installation
of the faucet adapter. Keep all of the gaskets and aerator parts
together in a known location in case you need to reinstall it in the
future.

- 10 -

4) Install the faucet adapter in the faucet with new rubber gaskets.

Thread the chrome faucet adapter into the faucet by hand until the
rubber gasket makes contact with the surface of the faucet. Then
tighten the adapter to turn. Use pliers if necessary, but do not
over tighten. Over tightening of the adapter could cause leakage and
reduce the lifespan of the rubber gaskets. With a female faucet
(shown above), both rubber gaskets should be inside the adapter and
rubber should stick out of the top of the adapter. If you have a male
faucet or a junior size aerator, remove the thick gasket on top so that
the inside threads of the faucet adapter are exposed. If a junior size
adapter (JA1 or JA2) has been purchased, screw it into the faucet
adapter before installing in the faucet. Refer to the Sizing
section (pg. 6 and pg.7) for more information on male/female
identification and junior adapters.

- 11 -

5) The qdspray sink-connected sprayer is now able to be quickly

connected and disconnected!

Though the old aerator (left) can be reinstalled at any time, we

suggest leaving the faucet adapter (right) installed permanently for
ease of operation. Be aware that the faucet adapter replaces the
existing aerator and may cause a change in pressure and stream
quality when the faucet is used normally.

- 12 -

Cache Aerators
Sizing
1) Remove existing faucet aerator.

- 13 -

Using the correctly sized key, unscrew the Cache aerator insert from
the faucet head. If you have determined that you do have a Cache
aerator, but do not have a key, we offer a reasonably priced key set
(shown on top of the previous page). You may also be able to
purchase the cache keys at your local hardware or plumbing supply
store.

- 14 -

2) Use pocket change to determine the size of the Cache aerator

insert.

It may be helpful to use the key that you removed it with instead of
the aerator itself since the faces are the same diameter (shown
above). The aerator insert has an O-ring that increases the overall
diameter and could cause a faulty measurement. Use the chart on the
following page to determine which adapter is right for your faucet.

- 15 -

If the key is the size of a quarter, it is a Standard insert and requires
the CSDA adapter. If the key is the size of a nickel, it is a Junior insert
and requires the CJRA adapter. If the key is the size of a dime, it is a
Tiny Junior insert and requires the CTJA adapter. If the key is smaller
than a dime, it is a Tom Thumb insert and requires a CTMA adapter.
The cache adapters are sold separately and are not included in the
sprayer base models.

- 16 -

Installation
1) Disconnect the faucet adapter from the spray hose coupling.

Hold the hose and coupling in one hand as shown above. Using the
thumb and index finger, pull back the coupling slip collar. With the
opposite hand, pull the chrome faucet adapter from the coupling.

- 17 -

2) Remove existing Cache aerator insert.

Using the correctly sized key, unscrew the cache aerator insert from
the faucet head. If you have determined that you do have a cache
aerator, but do not have a key, we offer a reasonably priced key set
(shown above). You may also be able to purchase the cache keys at
your local hardware store or plumbing supply store. Keep your
original aerator insert in a known location in case you need to reinstall
it in the future.

- 18 -

3) Screw the appropriate Cache aerator adapter into the faucet

adapter.

The faucet adapter comes with 2 rubber gaskets. In order to screw

the cache adapter into the faucet adapter, the top rubber gasket
(thick) must be removed to expose the inner threads of the faucet
adapter. The bottom rubber gasket (thin) should remain inside the
faucet adapter to create a water-tight seal between the two pieces.

- 19 -

4) Install the faucet adapter and the Cache adapter into the faucet.

Thread the adapter assembly into the faucet and tighten by hand. Use
water or cooking oil to lubricate the O-ring so that it does not get
pinched inside the faucet when tightening. It is very important that
you do not over tighten the adapter as it may damage the O-ring and
cause leakage. As long as you are using your hands, over tightening is
highly unlikely.

- 20 -

5) Connect the qdspray spray hose and check for leakage.

The qdspray hose is now able to be quickly connected and

disconnected! Be sure to see the Usage section (pg. 23) for tips on
how to properly connect and disconnect the hose. Because some
hands are stronger than others, hand-tight may not be tight enough,
but it makes a great starting point. If slight leakage occurs with the
hose connected and water on, use a small pair of pliers to tighten the
adapter assembly 1/8 of a turn at a time until the leak stops (see next
page). Be careful to grasp the adapter assembly on the friction
grooves and not on the outer threads.

- 21 -

After each 1/8 of a turn, check again for leakage with the hose
connected and the water on. Once the leak stops, the adapter is
sufficiently tight. There is no benefit to tightening the adapter any
more than what is required to stop leakage.

- 22 -

Usage
1) Connect qdspray hose to faucet

Using the thumb and index finger, pull back the coupling slip collar.
Slide the coupling onto the faucet adapter and release the slip collar.
The spring-loaded collar will lock the coupling in place on the faucet
adapter.

- 23 -

2) Turn on the water supply

This may look different than above depending on the model of the
faucet. You should hear the initial rush of water into the hose. Once
the hose has filled with water, pressure will build inside the hose even
though no water is moving.

- 24 -

3) Adjust the temperature and pressure of the stream by adjusting

the water supply at the faucet.

When the trigger is first pressed, the air in the line will be forced out
by the water. This can result in a popping noise coming from the
head. This is normal and is no cause for alarm. We recommend that
you test the temperature and pressure of the stream by first spraying
your hand in the sink (shown above). This may not be a critical step
depending on the application; however, you should always check the
temperature of the stream before spraying anything living (babies,
plants, pets, etc.). Failure to do so could result in scalding depending
on the setting of the hot water heater in your home.
Your qdspray sink-connected sprayer is now ready for use. Let your
imagination run wild!

- 25 -

4) After using, turn off the water supply (1) and press the spray head
trigger (2) to release pressure in the hose.

This may look different from above depending on the model of faucet.
We recommend pointing the head toward the sink since
depressurization can result in a small amount of water coming from
the head.

- 26 -

5) Disconnect the coupling from the faucet adapter.

Using the thumb and index finger, pull back the coupling slip collar to
unlock the coupling from the faucet adapter. Once unlocked, a gentle
downward motion should disconnect the coupling from the faucet
adapter. Make sure that the line is depressurized (see step 4) before
disconnecting. Failure to do so may result in wetness and cursing.

- 27 -

6) With the spray head trigger pressed, drain the residual water from
the hose into the sink.

Raise the spray head up while holding the trigger and gravity will move
the water out of the other end. For longer hoses, start at the spray
head end and raise the hose a section at a time. While draining your
hose does not affect functionality, it will help keep your hose and its
storage location clean and dry.
