INTRODUCTION

The Global Employment Trends 2014 Ekkehard Ernst Over 200 million people are unemployed in the world, and many have dropped out the labour market, too discouraged to even look for a job. Harshly hit are young people, whose unemployment rate is three times the adult rate. ILO's economist Christian Viegelahn, co-author of the 2014 edition of the Global Employment Trends report, warns of a gloomy outlook for jobs in 2014.

CHALLENGES IN MENA REGION


Unemployment in the MENA region is the highest in the worldand largely a youth phenomenon. large numbers of discouraged potential workers are still outside the labour market. Graduate unemployment is one of the greatest challenges that governments in North Africa currently face.
