Monday
We will begin with a poem by Edna Read chapters three and four.
St. Vincent-Millay, “clxxi,” the
source of the epigraph in Ordinary
People. Subsequently, we’ll listen to
chapters one and two. What is
Conrad’s world view? How can we
determine it is his stream-of-
consciousness like observations? How
do we pick out the pertinent detail?

Tuesday Video that will serve as an Read chapters seven and eight.
introduction to Freud’s life and
philosophy. We will also read
chapters five and six in class today.

Wednesday A more detailed look at “A Brief
History of Electroshock Therapy” and
history of psychoanalysis. We will
start chapters nine and ten in class.
Finish chapter ten by class on Friday.
Use tonight to get caught up in case you
are behind (or to read ahead), AND
continue revising the three core essays.
Remember to bring your flash drive with
you to lab on Thursday.

Thursday Computer lab day. We will continue Read chapters eleven and twelve in
revising the three core works from Ordinary People.
