It is fundamentally unethical to deprive cannabis consumers the right to purchase cannabis locally.

Here are a few reason for that claim: A prohibition on retali cannabis sales forces cannabis consumers to drive, in a car, or other conveyance, to a distant location, and is directly discriminatory against people who do not have access to transportation. Forcing cannabis consumers to travel long distances to acquire cannabis will not decrease the amount of cannabis consumed in Town. It will increase, or perpetuate illegal sales, or force cannabis consumers onto the highway to acquire cannabis. This is directly discriminatory against all cannabis consumers, and deprives them of equal protection under the law, and equal representation before the government (Town Council) by depriving them of the ability to pay taxes, and see that those taxes go to build our Town. Saying that the right to grow cannabis, personally, in ones own home, is good enough to safeguard cannabis consumers from the effect of a prohibition on retail sales, is discriminatory against the vast majority who cannot successfully grow cannabis. It is my duty as a citizen to argue against any governmental action, even if sanctioned by the majority, that discriminates against an entire class of citizens; whether I am in that group, or not, is irrelevant.
