Demography: statistical study of human population. It encompasses the study of the size, structure and distribution of these populations, and spatial and/or temporal changes in them in response to birth, migration, aging and death. Birth rate = number of births per 1000 inhabitants per year Death rate = number of deaths per 1000 per year It is per 1000 because we want to be able to compare countries of different sizes in population.
