VARIATIONS BETWEEN CHINESE AND AMERICAN EXPATRIATES

Abstract
In the current paper we examine variations in ethics and cultural variations between business people in China and the USA. We find that there are large cultural differences between American and Chinese expatriates working throughout Europe. We also found differences in terms of whether assessments are done in rural, suburbs, or urban areas with larger variations within the countries than between the countries.

Ethics are morals which an individual distinguishes between right and wrong Ethics can be seen as the approved principles of actions that defend and recommend concepts of right and wrong Business ethics are moral standard basis on which a business performs upon

Cultural Variations

Its always important to be aware of different cultures and examine the aspects of life that make it up. Being aware of cultural differences helps an individual be more professional and considerate whenever a situation requires it.

Chinese vs. American Expatriates


Chinese expatriates use problem-focused strategies less often than the American expatriates. These strategies include: showing tolerance and patience Using responsible problem solving Use symptom-focused strategies more often such as: resorting to parent-country escapism Some are found to use fewer problem-focused coping strategies than their US and French counterparts; while at the same time applying more symptom-focused coping strategies than the US and German expatriates.
