On behalf ofTanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC), Tea Board of Tanzania (TBT), Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA), College of Business Education (CBE), Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) and The Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP), Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill 8 vacant posts in the above Public Institutions. NB: GENERAL CONDITIONS All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and not above 45 years old, however, should also observe the age limit for each position where indicated. ii. TANZANIA FOOD AND NUTRITION CENTRE TFNC

Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) is a Government Institution under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The Centre is responsible for spreading nutrition activities in the country with the objectives of controlling and reducing all forms of malnutrition. 1.1 1.2 SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER I, SOCIOLOGY - 1 POST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design social anthropological approaches to nutrition research and interventions Participate in the formulation of policies and strategies dealing with nutrition and gender mainstreaming in nutrition programs and projects; Participate in monitoring and evaluation of nutrition projects progress and impact; Participate in the co-ordination of institutional and sectoral research activities; Participate in providing consultancy services on sociological aspects; Participate in designing social anthropological approaches to nutrition research and interventions; Participate in data collection, analysis and interpretation; Participate in preparation of project progress reports; Conduct in-service training for in-house and other service providers; Identify and analyze sociological problems related to nutrition; Participate in developing research proposals; Prepare regular progress reports; Participate in monitoring and evaluation of project implementation; Perform any other duties assigned.

1.2.1 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Masters Degree in Sociology from a recognized institution with at least ten (10) years of research work experience in a reputable organization and at least four (4) publications after attaining Masters DegreeSalary Scale will be PRSS 9. OR Masters Degree in Sociology from a recognized institution with at least ten (12) years of research work experience in a reputable organization and at least four (5) publications after attaining Masters DegreeSalary Scale will be PRSS 10. 1.2.2 REMUNERATION Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institutions Salary Scale PRSS 9/10 1.3 1.3.1

SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER I, NUTRITION -1 POST


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare project proposals, budget and action plans; Monitor and evaluate project progress and impact;

Carry out research and surveys; Prepare regular project reports Coordinate research activities Provide consultancy services in nutrition Conduct nutritional interventions; Prepare project progress reports Conduct in-service training for in house and other service providers Participate in planning nutritional interventions; Participate in developing research proposals; Perform any other duties assigned.

1.3.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Masters Degree in Human Nutrition, Home Economics (Food and Nutrition), Public Health or related fields, from a recognized institution with at least ten (10) years of research work experience in a reputable organization and at least four (4) publications after attaining Masters DegreeSalary Scale will be PRSS 9. OR Masters Degree in Human Nutrition, Home Economics (Food and Nutrition), Public Health or related fields, from a recognized institution with at least ten (12) years of research work experience in a reputable organization and at least four (5) publications after attaining Masters DegreeSalary Scale will be PRSS 10.

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH AUTHORITY - OSHA

Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA) is a Government Executive Agency Established under the Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997. Its main function is to promote a good, sound and a healthy working environment by enforcing the Occupational Safety and Health Act. No.5 of 2003 through inspection of work places to detect hazards which can affect the health of workers, conducting medical examination to workers, providing education and conducting training in Occupational Safety and Health. The ultimate goal is to have a healthy worker at a healthy work environment so as to increase productivity. OSHA is hereby inviting applications from qualified Tanzanian to fill the following posts; 2.1 2.1.1 MEDICAL OFFICER II - 1 POST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Take part in specific occupational health programmes for both workers and management Provide input for occupational health surveys and researches e.g by preparing articles on Occupational Safety and Health.

Provide inputs for Business plan, strategic plan on Occupational medicine issues Provide input to Public Relation Office on occupational medicine issues to be delivered to media, Government agencies, workers and management Interpret scientific data collected during investigations and recommend appropriate control methods Ensure compliance with set standards and guideline in occupational health services at workplaces Provide effective measures to protect those who are vulnerable such as disabled persons and pregnant or nursing women at workplaces. Carry out health examinations and health surveillance of workers to establish and maintain database on health status of workers in different workplace settings for use in occupational health management Conduct risk assessments and general inspections at workplaces and identify work conditions that contribute to the overall ill health of workers and suggest improvement measure by finding root causes Participate in assessment of workers disability as a result of occupational illnesses and injuries for the purpose of worker compensation and or rehabilitate programmes Provide advice on workers rehabilitation programmes for workers with work related problems such as disabilities to regain their normal health status Investigate and report on occupational accidents and occupational diseases Monitor and detect occupational disease or conditions with regard to prevalence in known and unknown activities Conduct follow up inspections to ensure corrective measures have been implemented Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the Head (Occupational Medicine)

2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor Degree in Medicine or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. 2.1.3 REMUNERATION Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institutions Salary Scale OSHA SCALE 7.1.

COLLEGE OF BUSINESS EDUCATION - CBE

The College of Business Education is established by Act of Parliament No. 31 of 1965. College of Business Education is a training Government Executive Agency operating semi autonomously and commercially in providing education in Accountancy, Procurement & Supplies Management and other business related disciplines. The College of Business Education (CBE) invites applicants from suitably qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill the following vacant posts.

3.1 BURSAR - 1 POST (DAR ES SALAAM CAMPUS) 3.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Directs implementation of accounting function by ensuring correction, classification, recording and reconciliation of accounting data. Prepares financial statements before they are audited. Prepares estimates of Income and Expenditure. Implements directives on financial matters. Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. 3.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE CPA (T) qualifications with working experience of eight (8) years in the accounting field. He must be registered by NBAA as an Authorized Accountant.

3.1.3 REMUNERATION Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institutions Salary Scale SalaryPGSS 20. 3.2 COMPUTER /LAB TECHNICIAN II - 1 POST 3.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user networked peripheral devices, workstation hardware, and networking hardware products. Liaise with, and provide support and training to staff and end users on computer operation issues. Develop and maintain an inventory of keyboards, hard drives, printers, modems, scanners, monitors, and other peripheral devices. Receive and respond to incoming calls, e-mails, or pages regarding hardware and PC problems. Conductresearch on various products of computer in support of its development and procurement efforts. Prepare documents on instances of hardware repair, installation, failure, and removal. Evaluate and recommend hardware products of PC for purchase. Perform any other relevant duties assigned by Supervisor. 3.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Diploma in Computer Studies with proven knowledge of Windows/Linux servers and should have knowledge of MS Office. 3.2.3 REMUNERATION

Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institutions Salary Scale PGSS 6/7.

TANZANIA INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION - TIE

Tanzania Institute of Education is a public Non-university Institution of Higher Learning under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. The Institute was established by Act No.13 of 1975 (CAP 142 R.E.2002). The main functions of the Institute are; design and develop curricula for Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Teacher education levels; design and develop teaching and learning materials for the designated levels of education; To carry out inservice as well as pre-service training of teachers and other stakeholders for efficient and effective implementation of curricula; conduct research on education and use the findings to provide technical advice to the Government and other stakeholders with the objective of facilitating provision of quality education. TIE invites suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacancy under the following terms and conditions: 4.1 4.1.1 ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT 1 POST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains accounts records; Writes books of accounts and other accounting documents such as journals, petty cash books, ledgers, registers and vouchers; Verifies accuracy of documents and records relating to payments, receipts and other transactions and makes necessary calculations and corrections; Makes and checks entries in Ledgers at regular intervals; Conducts bank reconciliation; Prepares wage sheets and effects wage payments; Conducts banking activities; and Performs such other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.

4.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with Ordinary Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications from a recognized institution plus at least one (1) year of working experience in the relevant field. 4.1.3 REMUNERATION Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institutions Salary Scale PGSS 5- 6.

THE INSTITUTE OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING - IRDP

The Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) was established as a Corporate Body under the Act of Parliament No. 8 of 1980 as a Higher Learning Institute forproviding Training, Research and Consultancy services in the fields of Rural Development Planning. The Institute now invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant post. 5.1 5.1.1 ASSISTANT LECTURER IN ECONOMETRICS - 1 POST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teaches up to NTA level 8 (Bachelors Degree); Prepares learning resources for tutorial exercises; Conducts research, seminars and case studies; Carries out consultancy and community services under supervision; Supervises students academic projects; Prepares module teaching manuals and Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
