John Donigan History Two major things in Western Europe were both Absolute monarchies and divine right.

Absolute monarchy is a form of government in which the monarch has complete absolute power over his or her people. Divine right is the belief teaching idea that the right to be !ing comes directly from "od# not from the consent of the people. To do this she made a new law code that gave her absolute power. This shows that !ings were believing in the idea of divine right and not only that# they spread the idea. Another !ing that did this was %ouis &'(. %ouis &'( was a major promoter for the belief in divine right and since he was the !ing at the time# this helped spread and solidify this belief. )rom reading this you should now have a grasp on what Absolute monarchies are and divine right is. 4ou should also now be able to reali1e how major big these ideas forms of government were in that time period
