4.1 Recognize the extent to which a cultures structures and values may oppress, marginalized, alienate, or create or enhance privilege and power. Ex. I will learn the companies policy on diversity and apply them to my job performance when working with families, organizations, community and clients we serve (RHAs Cultural Competency Plan).

4.2 Gain sufficient self-awareness to eliminate the influence of personal biases and values in working with diverse groups. Ex. I will follow the Code of Ethic as it applies to the conduct of a social worker as well as the code of ethic that the company has set to prevent undue biases while in the work place working with diverse groups.

4.3 Recognize and communicate their understanding of the importance of difference in shaping life experiences. Ex. I will work closely with my supervisor and client to gain knowledge of their likes and dislikes so that I will be fully able to support them with their wants and desires to create personal growth.

4.4 View themselves as learners and engage those with whom they work as informants. Ex. I will meet with my supervisor on a daily base to discuss ways of improving my learning experience.
