Absalom Kumalo is Steven Kumalos only child. He is young, and has a history of getting into trouble. He murders a man, and is sent to prison. Absalom meets with his dad for the first time in years, but he doesnt speak much. In Book 1, he is a large topic, but we do not understand him completely.

What others think about the character.

Many people, especially his dad, are confused by what Absalom has done. A pastor raised him, and he did not have a history of crime in Ndotsheni. Many people think he is a criminal. His dad was extremely sad and confused. Absalom cant convey his feelings as well.

How character looks and feels. Absalom is young and confused. He had fallen into a life of crime, and now he was paying the consequences. Sadly, he cant quite communicate what he is feeling to his father. You can tell he is confused.

Important events or actions that involve this character. Absalom and three others rob a house, but when Arthur Jarvis comes down the stairs he shoots him. He is arrested, and his dad has to find out and go find him. This whole process is hard for Absalom and his father.
