Zoom Jr. Name Title: Studentss organization: Client: Brief description: Nichole Phillips Zoom Jr.

Avila University Red Bridge Family YMCA Zoom Jr. is a proposal for a new program at the Red Bridge Family YMCA, which would be similar to a Zumba class. The Zoom Jr. program would run in conjunction with the adult Zumba class and would be a dance-fitness class for children 2-6 years old.

Need/Opportunity: With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the YMCA of Greater Kansas City is committed to strengthening communities. The Y engages men, women and childrenregardless of age, income or backgroundto nurture the potential of children and teens, to improve the nations health and well-being, and provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors. With a history of serving the Kansas City area since 1860, the Y has the long-standing relationships and physical presence not just to promise, but to deliver, lasting personal and social change. Though the Y has been in Kansas City for a long time and offers a wide variety of programs to its members, they continue to seek new membership. Community Relations students at Avila University were asked to develop new ideas to keep current customers engaged and attract new customers. Students were asked to develop a new program or create an event to promote a current program for the YMCA. Children always need a fun way to get out of the house and get exercise just like their parents. For the parents, they are often held back and unable to attend classes like these because they cant find a babysitter or somewhere to take their kids. Though the Y does offer child watch at specific times, Zoom Jr. would give children their daily recommended dose of exercise rather than just a babysitter. This program would give moms piece of mind that their kids are occupied and being cared for and they can all get in a fun workout.

Psychographics: The values attitudes and belief of this generational and economic group will vary. For the purpose of marketing; some general observations can be made. Generation X values freedom, responsibility, family, and espouse a work hard/play hard mentality. Like Generation X, the Millennial generation is comfortable with technology. Tightly scheduled as children and used to having every hour of their day filled with structured activity, they may sacrifice their own identity to be part of the team. They dislike selfishness and are oriented toward service learning and volunteerism. Goals and Objective: Goal is to implement the Zoom Jr. program and generate more business for the Red Bridge Family YMCA. Objective is to have this plan selected by the YMCA for real world implementation. Solution Overview: Gain support for the YMCA while providing an outlet for busy mothers wanting time to work out and go to Zumba while giving her the peace of mind that her children are being taken care of in a fitness class of their own. Zoom Jr. will be for kids ages 2-6. The class will begin with a 10min stretch, followed by a dance-workout (Zumba style but not necessarily conducted by a Zumba instructor) for 30min. After the workout the kids will have a break where they get a healthy snack and then they will meet back up with mom in her Zumba class for a final family dance. Zoom Jr. not only provides child care to moms who want to work out but it encourages healthy lifestyle in children by stating them on an exercise routine at an early age and providing healthy snacks and family bonding.
