Ada Lovelace

Lovelace and Babbage dinnt have the funds to build the machine, so they tried to use their mathematical skills to raise the money they needed.

Ada demonstrates the Analytical Engines ability by writing the rst computer program to calculate Bernoulli numbers.

LATER......

They developed a system for gambling on horse races. Many times the system didnt work and they lost huge sums of money.

Charles Babbage
(1791 - 1871)

Although the engine was never built, her program gives the exact values with modern computers.

Babbage presents the Analytical Engine, a machine able to perform advanced operations Babbage presents his idea of a machine called the Dierence Engine able to perform polynomial calculations. The machine couldnt be built in those times due to technologycal restrictions.

She regularily corresponded with scientist Michael Faraday, writer Charles Dickens and astronomer John Herschel. Adas parents separated when she was 1 month old. She was raised by her mother and grandmother.

The engine would have weighed about 4 tons and it supposed to have 25 000 parts.

Ada must become a scientist !!!

Ada was privately schooled by the most famous tutors of that period. She was especially procient in mathematics.
