Chocolat (Chocolate, as translated in some Spanish-speaking countries) is a 2000 film directed porLasse Hallstrom and starring Juliette Binoche.

It is a coproduction in the UK and the U.S., based on the novel of the same name by Joanne Harris. To prepare for his role, Juliette Binoche spent several days at a tearoom in Paris, learning to make chocolate candy. The film tells the story of a single woman, Vianne Rocher (Juliete Binoche) and her daughter, who come to Lansquenet, a small French village, in the winter of 1959.
