Letter Knowledge

Research indicates that children benefit most from hearing both the sound and the letter at the same time. When you teach them their letters explain that the letter is called __ and makes the sound __. Start with letters that have meaning to your children (like their name). You can writer them on paper or in the air as you say them. Have a letter scavenger hunt. Choose a letter from you childs name and have your child find it wherever they can: on signs, in stores, in magazines, etc.
