STRUCTURE: Truss Bridge LOCATION: Connects Martinez and Benicia COST:$1.2 billion used for construction OPENED: in 1962 MATERIAL: Fine white clay called kaolin clays and fly ash

Carquinez Bridge
COST: $8 million to build OPENED:1927 LOCATION: Crosses Carquinez Strait STRUCTURE: Suspension bridge Other names: Zampa Bridge and Vallejo Bridge

Dumbarton Bridge
OPENED 1982 LOCATION: Dumbarton Bridge crosses the Southern portion of San Francisco Bay LOCATION: State Route 84 between San Mateo and Alameda counties near Newark and East Palo Alto 1982 STRUCTURE COST: $70 million MATERIAL: Steel box girder and pre-stressed concrete approach spans
