Beginning of Term My Evolving Theory

I noticed the influence of health psychology permeating my thoughts as I conceptualized factors contributing to my clients challenges. The bio-psychosocial model considers the whole person in the context of their environment and how biological, psychological and social factors contribute to health or illness. This holistic view is one that resonates with my perspective. Rather than rejecting the foundational influences of Adlerian, Existential and Cognitive theories, I find myself weaving threads of other concepts into the tapestry of my theoretical orientation.

Dec 4, 2013, 11:22 AM I remain inspired by Adlerian and Existential theoryI think this is evident in my therapeutic stanceI have seen the benefit of narrative practice and still value many components of CBTI have also become curious about the impact of early relationships and attachment theory on present difficulties.I believe resilience and self-efficacy are key components for people to attain the life they desire, despite the challenges they have faced so far....Mindfulness practice has been beneficial for my well-being and I hope to continue to develop my personal practice as well as continuing to find ways to incorporate it into my work with clients.
