Love Duologue 1 - The confession (A metaphor) Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned, said the young man,

kneeling beside the confessional, I am in love with another mans lover. Son, your sin is forgiven. Go and sin no more. Father, I am afraid that I am condemned to repeat that sin. I can never stop loving her. Son, if you think that you love her, then it is against the will of God. I am not sure that I can love her throughout my life, Father. But I am sure I will never forget her She is an instrument of Satan, my son. You should pray to God to lead you away from these temptations. You should pray to God to show you a woman suitable for yourself But she is so beautiful Father; I cant even associate Satan with her. Shes an angel, Father. I can see God through her eyes. God can be seen only through virtues of man; not by his vices. What are virtues and vices? Arent they conventions made by men, Father, to suit his own ends? Satan is now making you speak against the word of God. He may tempt her heart to yield to your illegitimate desire. She doesnt know about my existence, Father. So, she will never love me. Why cant I look her from a distance till she leaves my life? No, for the Son of Man says by desiring another mans woman in your heart you are committing adultery. Father, I cant feel happy if I stopped thinking about her. I believe that God wants me to be happy. No, Son. It is the work of devil, for his ways are tricky but slippery. You must change your ways and give yourself to God, so that you can acquire eternal happiness from God for your virtuous life Why cant I love her? Im not doing any harm by doing so. I know for sure that she wont even look at me. There is no real harm Father. Your thoughts are impure, son. You dont want your sins to be forgiven. You want God to approve your sins as virtues. As Gods representative on earth I will never do that.

The young man sighed and said, I dont need you or a God to endorse my life, Father. I am a sinner and I will be, rather than letting go of my dreams however immoral and illicit they may be, for I can only dream. He stood up and walked through the great wooden doors of the church, not waiting for the priests reply, making up his mind never to come back.
