Brian Aird
Executive Director

Dear Mr. Aird, I am applying for the Project Coordinator position posted on Dalhousies MyCareer site. Im currently a third-year Dalhousie Commerce Student and I plan to major in Marketing. At your convenience, I'd appreciate the opportunity to discuss the position and my candidacy with you. This position is about being an all-in-one solution for the EDN. When I read the job description I was struck with two things. 1. The diversity of the Duties and Responsibilities section. 2. How confident I was in my abilities to perform them. I'm the kind of person that can easily switch gears and I love to learn new things but thats not why you should hire me. During my previous two internships I have worked within teams to plan international trade shows, revisit brand strategy and update marketing plans. I have led projects that find efficiency within a room booking system, storyboard and shoot commercials, and upgrade social media sites with branded custom graphics. But again, not why you should hire me. You should hire me because rather than working for ColaCola, Irving or Bell; I want to work for EDN. It inspires me when a community organization can make a real difference for small business owners and the community as a whole. Ive been an active volunteer at the Dalhousie Bike Center for the past 10 months and love the feeling I get teaching people how to care for and repair their bikes. I feel like that would be the most rewarding part of this job, going home with a feeling that you are enabling a group of people who have been written off by society to help make their dreams a reality and prove that they are just as capable as any other, if not more. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,

Matthew Worona
