Survey - assess the prior historical knowledge of students. Entry-Level Assessments Quickwrite students will have time to write down their own ideas, beliefs and experiences to discuss in class. Flashcards dialect and language terms Group presentation students will research relevant historical events that pertain to the time period of Huck Finn. Note-taking techniques - students will take notes during the presentations of their peers. Summative Assessments Quickwrite/Translation - effects of individual verbal language and dialect characteristics so that students can distinguish that we all speak in a form of dialect connected to our culture and demographics. Final Essay students will make connections of significant themes the literary works discussed in the classroom.
