CBEB1108 MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS II (SEM 2, 2013/14) GROUP ASSIGNMENT (15% of grade)

The Malaysian Economy: Past, Present and Future The purpose of this assignment is for you to analyse the past, present and future of the Malaysian economy. There are certain aspects that you can discuss: Past and Present o Analyse the current situation of the Malaysian Economy in terms of employment, inflation, economic growth, interest rate regime, and any other aspect of economics as you have learnt in class. How has these aspects trended over the past years? o What are some of the macroeconomic goals that the government has in place for the country? Future o Based on the current situation, is Malaysia in a position to achieve these goals? Explain why you think so. o If you were Prime Minster of Malaysia, what policies would you recommend in terms of fiscal and monetary policy? Be specific in your answer and detail out the areas which you would target to improve. For instance, which areas of development would you recommend for changes? Explain why.

Use your creativity to structure your essay, making sure that the flow is logical and organized with proper introduction, body and conclusion. DO NOT simply list the questions and answer them like an exam paper. What you can include in your paper: discuss the trends and macroeconomic issues involved. providing comments and a critical analysis of the issues relate the issues to the theory youve learnt in class References: Please use a minimum of ten (10) credible sources as references (as explained above) and cite them using APA referencing style. No references from Wikipedia, blogspots, and the like. Failure to follow this instruction will lead to severe penalty. Submit your assignment on 27/May/2014 via hardcopy and softcopy (Turnitin).
