Kevin L. Foust, Police Chief of Virginia Tech Police Department
Chief Foust served as an FBI Agent for 24 years, many of those spent investigating various acts of terrorism. On September 11, 2001, Chief Foust reported to FBI Headquarters as the Unit Chief of the Usama Bin Laden Unit. He is going to share lessons learned during the mass shootings at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007. He will talk about the responses from police, fire, and EMS. At the end of his presentation there will be a question and answer session.
Dr. Jeffrey Guy, M.D., Chief Medical Officer for TriStar Health
Known worldwide as The Burn Doc, Dr. Guy found an early interest in trauma while working his way through medical school as a paramedic. This well-respected trauma surgeon helped to build Vanderbilts burn unit into what we know today and now leads TriStars clinical care goals for their 15 hospitals in Tennessee, South Central Kentucky, and Northern Georgia. Dr. Guy will present on ballistic trauma and blast injuries.
There will be many other great presenters. CEUs will be offered for all lectures. We will also feature and excellent exhibit hall with plenty of time to spend with vendors. Lunch will be provided both days.
