Teacher Philosophy As a teacher I have many beliefs that surround education.

I believe that student-teacher relationships should be warm and caring. I believe that mutual respect should be given and received by both student and teacher. In my own classroom these feelings will develop over a period of time in which both the students and teacher (myself) will participate in community building activities. I also believe that a good relationship between a principal and teacher is key. This relationship should be based on mutual respect, support and trust. My ideal school climate is one that supports students and staff of the school. The climate would be warm and welcoming, one where students and staff feel that they can succeed both academically and in life. It would be a school that believes in the importance of collaboration between not only staff, but parents as well. I believe that all subjects are important in a classroom. I believe that integrating subjects creates a more meaningful learning experience. It also helps students see the connections between all subject areas. I believe in project based learning and inquiry based with hands on experiences to go along with that learning. This will help students see the connections between what they are learning and the world that they live in. I believe in a proactive approach to classroom management. Im a strong believer in responsive classroom techniques. I believe that

partnerships with parents are key to a childs success. I also believe that the community can be a huge tool to utilize as a teacher. Most communities are always willing to help and volunteer with local schools. The beliefs that are listed above are the basis for my teaching philosophy.
