August 25, 2013 WHAT: WHO: The Orange International Street Fair (OISF) OISF Vice President Adam Feliz, Orange County Mayor Teresa Smith, Residents of Orange County, Volunteers, 24 different bands, and nearly 500,000 visitors Plaza Square Park, Orange, CA 92866 Main Stage Friday, August 30, 2013 5- 6 p.m. Opening Ceremonies The city of Orange and the Orange International Street Fair, Inc. had its first fair in 1973, in celebration of the cities one-hundredth year. The OISF, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) certified non-profit that was incorporated in 1985 to organize the fair. Its success has become an annual tradition for the city of Orange. Today the OISF, Inc. continues to partner with the city of Orange for support services and has evolved into one of the biggest food festival in Southern California. The fair contributes around $200,000 each year to the city to compensate overtime cost for police, firefighters, and city crew. The OISF, Inc. will mark its 41st edition of the fair that will include 200 vendors that will be set up in 15 themed areas. Each section will be dedicated to food, beer, and crafts from different cultures and countries. The fairs food booth that are hosted by non-profits generate around $8,000 to $20,000 and around 500,000 visitors are expected to for three-day event. The fair will begin with Opening Ceremony, with the Pledge of Allegiance presented by Miss Orange, Megan Wisler.
