AIAA Student Section at the University of Washington. We are currently in the process of planning events for the season, including our UW AIAA Professional Growth series. We would greatly appreciate your attendance at one or both of the events in this series. Resume Workshop (January 15th, 6PM at Guggenheim Hall) This event is a precursor to our Professional Networking Night. We are looking for someone who reviews resumes and is involved in the hiring process to come give a presentation/information session on resume tips and best practices. (i.e., What do hiring managers look for when reviewing resumes for an intern or college hire, especially in the context of Aeronautical and Astronautical engineering?) Networking Night (January 22nd, 5PM at Guggenheim Hall) This event consists of a presentation by each company attending, explaining the companys goals, operations, and work environment. This event seeks to hear from engineers, engineering managers, or employees with other technical job functions to talk about their experiences while working at [COMPANY]. We plan to schedule presentations from 5pm to 7pm; with 10-15 minutes allotted per presentation. Additionally, it is our hope that presenters will be accompanied by a recruiter or HR professional who can answer questions related to the recruitment and hiring process. Following the presentations, the representatives and student attendees are invited to an informal mixer, at which refreshments will be served. Students will have the opportunity to talk and network with company representatives, in a casual, social setting.
