Dear Selection Committee Member, My name is Jennifer Bridgewater and I am currently on staff as a science teacher at Lawrence High School. During my ten years as an instructor I have enjoyed teaching Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, Science Research and most recently Environmental Science to all levels of learners. I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Mary Nketiah. I got to know Mary during her senior year, while she was a student in my Environmental Science class. Her personality can be best described as confident, trustworthy, resourceful and mature. Mary can always be counted on to answer a question or to give her opinion on a topic. I really admire Marys vision for her life after high school. She has already identified that she was like to serve as an officer in the United States Army and as such has already volunteered to be a part of future solider training. She also looks forward to being able to incorporate her ability to speak more than one language into her future career. Mary has balanced her responsibilities while being a student here at Lawrence High School with wanting to help out in her community. She volunteers her time helping out a nursing home caring for the elderly, which she particularly enjoys. Mary is someone who is well liked by her peers and teachers. She is very proud of her school record which has never been marred by a detention. I found she worked well in cooperative groups as well as on independent projects. She is very confident and self assured, which allows her to tackle things she finds challenging and see them through to the end. She will be a valuable contributor to your program and I am sure he will succeed.
