If a person is placed on probation, the court shall promptly notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of the probation and probationary term and conditions in a manner prescribed by the department. The department shall place the fact of probation and the probationary term and conditions on the person's records in the department. HISTORY: Added Stats 1981 ch 940 32, as Veh C 23203. The 1998 amendment failed to become operative because it was superseded by the 1999 amendment, which also became operative July 1, 1999.

1984 Amendment: Added subd (c).

1996 Amendment: Deleted "pursuant to Section 23168" after "previously specified term" in subd (b).

1999 Amendment: Deleted "pursuant to this article" after "on probation".

Note Stats 1998 ch 118 provides: Sections 1 to 83, inclusive, of this act, shall become operative on July 1, 1999. Stats 1999 ch 22 provides: SEC. 46. Except for Sections 4, 6, 17, 18, 18.1, and 40.2 of this act, which sections shall become operative on the effective date of this act, this act shall become operative on July 1, 1999.
