5 March 2014 Good morning, Mr Chan, Vice-principals, teachers and fellow Unitians.

I am Felise from Class 4E4 speaking to you on perseverance in relation to our school motto. As this is a very important year, I need to be disciplined and persevere so that I am able to focus in class. To lead self, I plan to do what is right even when no one is looking and also give my 100% in whatever I do. Be it CCA or academically, I will give my very best and never give up. To serve others, I can start by showing respect towards one another and treat others in the way I want to be treated. I can help my friends when they are in doubt by teaching them. Not only will I be able to help my friends, I will also be helping my teacher as she can then attend to other students who require more attention. I will also speak up for what is right like when my friend wants to copy homework or someone teases my friend. I can tell them that it is not right as we should all uphold integrity and be compassionate to one another. You should never look down on someone unless youre helping them up. To actualise self, I should strive to become a better person. I should persevere and push myself beyond my limits as I am stronger than I think. I will stand firm and be committed to my work. I should view my challenges as opportunities to learn more. I also need to clear my doubts so that I can improve more quickly. Even if others laugh at me, I will not be afraid to ask teachers questions when in doubt. At least I have the courage to ask. I need to persevere to be hardworking so that I can do well. Lastly, to inspire others, I want to study hard and influence my peers to do the same. I want to be a good role model for my peers and juniors. I wont give up when faced with difficulties. I will encourage my temmates during competitions and help them when needed. Words are powerful, so I will use them to encourage and help others. When I treat others with respect, others will learn from me. I endeavour to persevere through hard times. Remember, happiness is a choice. Always stay positive so that others are inspired by you. The question isnt can you? Its will you? Because straight roads do not make skillful drivers. Will you persevere till the very end? Thank you.
