Welcome Students & Parents!

April 2014

Hello! And welcome to our classroom! I look forward to all of us learning and growing together as a community as we move through our lessons this year! My name is Miss Beth Harris and I have been teaching long enough to know that each year and class hold surprises, challenges and gifts - as long as you can recognize which is which things will be fine! I have a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's of Education in Higher Education Administration I also hold three Associate degrees in Computer Science, Sign Language Interpreting and Psychology. I believe that the varied subjects I have studied stand as evidence of my love of learning and desire to share that love with my students. I look forward to getting to know each of you as we take this journey together!

Parents are invited to join us as we welcome the new term by sharing fruit, bagels and juice to begin our day with the energy to take on new challenges!

Curriculum Night
Location: Our Classroom - 6-8pm Date: 4/30/2014
By this time, the students and I will have had a chance to prepare the classroom to support our learning for this term. Please come by and see the place and tools that your child will use at school. And get ideas of how to help at home!

Online Parent Meetings

Location: Your computer Date: May 5th - 8th, 6-8pm
Please sign up on Curriculum Night for a 15 minute Skype session where the adults can talk about any concerns or issues as the term begins. If it is easier for you, we can also schedule a face-to-face meeting one of those days between 56pm.

Classroom Layout

Family Night
Location: Cafeteria, 6-9pm Date: 6/10/2014 Bring the whole family and join us for a school wide festival! Plans are still being finalized, but face-painting, carnival games, concessions and plenty of fun are in the works! Sign-up sheets for volunteers will be coming home in your st child's communication folder in a couple of weeks. Please return by June 1 .
