I think I can get achieve an 8 in both criteria A and C. Criteria A: I think my monologue reflects a lot of creativity as I used props, which went well with my monologue. The props made my monologue more believable interesting and creative. I also used the language, which matched and related to my character. My voices tone matched my character, which was Caliban as I sounded angry. My monologue was very clear and I am sure that by the end of my monologue everyone would have figured out who I was and which character I was portraying. I described the calibans thoughts and feelings and provided examples of scenes that made me angry and changed the way I felt. I am sure that my details were appropriate for my character and I did show a clear understanding of the play as I gave many examples of things that happened in the play like: Sycorax my mother not staying with me (died), I did an attempt to rape Miranda etc. Criteria C: I believe that my speech has a use of pronunciation, intonation and tone that reflected the mood of my character. Example: When I was angry at Prospero my tone was very serious and high, when I was talking about my mother Sycorax, the tone of my voice was low and sad. I had pauses in the appropriate places. My voice was very loud which was good at times and my voice was soft but still understandable. My voice changed according to what I said during my monologue. I think I used a good use of body language too as I was not just staying in one place, I had eye contact with the audience where necessary. I also used props and threw the frame which reflected my emotion. Overall this is why I think I can get an 8. Good use of pronunciation, intonation and tone to communicate the mood of your character Good use of pace and pause to create a tempo appropriate to your scene Good volume and projection Good use of body language, gesture and eye contact to enhance your performance Your overall performance demonstrates a good level of competence in oratory technique
