1. When you get a loan request, learn more about a man, business, industry and economic conditions generally.

2. Dont prejudge or pre-evaluate but listen attentively, intelligently, understandingly and empathetically.
3. Dont pretend to have knowledge you dont have or about which you are doubtful. 4. Remember that with respect to a loan, it is not simply how good but also how liquid. 5. Dont commit yourself before getting all the facts, considering all the aspects and deliberating adequately. 6. Dont attribute the dirty work to loan committee or the Board or the bank or the head office.

7. Say clearly when you have to turn down loan request or lay down a requirement.
8. Accept full responsibility and make decisions promptly on your own, when you know you have all the facts, have considered all aspects of the case and have sound reasons for the decision you make. 9. When you have concluded from the facts and deliberations that you are going to say YES say it ungrudgingly. 10. Dont place too much dependence on any set of rules like this.
