School Librarian - Kim Schultz, MLS

As a school librarian, I will strive to make the school library the beating heart of the school by: Making it accessible to all students and staff before, during, and after school. Collaborating with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum to increase academic achievement. Creating an inviting, aesthetically pleasing space, with a caf atmosphere, where academic work, reading for pleasure, and socializing can be accomplished under one roof. Increasing classroom visits to the library, and general use of the facility through micro marketing (advocacy) efforts, and librarian/teacher collaboration. Organizing the space to comfortably accommodate student/teacher group meetings. Encouraging the use of the space as a technology hub where students can use and learn about the technology and resources available to them. Creating excitement about what the library has to offer, and how it can benefit students both personally and academically. This will be accomplished via book-talks, blogs, book trailers, displays of new materials, etc.
