Exhibit: ACT Prep Math Test Pre-Calculus Test Benchmark: Academic Skills: Top piece of work in Math During

my junior year of high school I took ACT Prep. During this class we took a lot of practice ACT tests. The one that helped me out the most was the math test. The other ones I had been exposed to in other classes but this one was all new to me. This test helped me know how to study for the ACT and helped me get a score good enough to get into MSU. The next year I decided to take pre-calculus. We learned about solving for sin, cos, and tangent equations. At first when we started learning the sections it was very hard. After learning shortcuts and faster ways to find the right answer, it wasnt that bad. While taking quizzes and tests we were allowed to use our conversion sheet of pie fractions. I chose both of these assignments because they were a challenge at first. I learned that once you actually take the time to assess the problem, it may not be as bad as you first thought. Usually I catch on really fast in math, but during these assignments it took me some time to learn the material. It showed that if I just stick to something long enough it will eventually become easier. These skills will help me a lot as a young adult. While I am in college I will cover a ton of new material and may not learn it as fast as other people. I will have to make sure I dont get down on myself and keep trying. Also these assignments could teach me something about my own social life. If there is a problem that I am facing, I can now step back and look at it for a minute. After evaluating the situation, I might find out the problem wasnt near as bad as I first thought.
