Install Batteries
Install the two (2) AAA batteries in the remote control, making sure to place the positive (+) and negative (-) ends as shown. NOTE:For more detailed information on the features and functions of the remote control, including how to program the learning remote, please consult the User Guide on the CD-ROM.

Network Connection
For a Wireless Connection to your Computer If you are using a wired connection, skip to the next step. If connecting wirelessly, you need to attach the antennas. There are two (2) antennas for the DMA2100 and three (3) for the DMA2200. The antennas should be screwed on in a clockwise direction. Hand tighten until they are securely in place. The antennas should be raised when the Extender is in use.

NOTE: Power on your TV. The initial startup of the Extender could take up to one (1) minute. Power on the Media Center Extender DMA2200 Plug the Media Center Extenders power cord connector to the units power port on the back panel. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet. There is also an on/off power switch just above the power port. Power on the unit before starting Device Configuration. DMA2100 This unit ships with the correct power clips for your region. If needed, pull out the clip covering the power port connector. You can then snap in the appropriate power clip that matches your Main power outlet Plug the Media Center Extenders power cord connector to the units power port on the back panel. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet. NOTE: There is an IR sensor on the front of the Media Center Extender. Make sure the front panel is visible for the remote control.

2 Device Configuration
Configure Language Settings
Use the arrow keys to highlight the correct language options for your configuration. Press OK on the remote control, or select Next to continue.

Configure Display Connection

A HDMI connection should automatically be discovered, depending on the TV and settings. For other connections you can choose the video, audio and aspect ratio to optimize the playback quality. Your choice should match the actual hardware connection that you made. Press OK on the remote control or select Next to continue.

Configure Network Settings

Select the type of network connection you are using, wired or wireless and press OK on the remote control or select Next to continue. If you connect wirelessly, you will be asked to confirm your current networks wireless security level. If an Encryption key is needed, enter the encryption key for your network using the on-screen keyboard and click Next. NOTE: For wireless router settings, the security level chosen on the Extender setup screens must match your computer security.

For the computer to recognize the Media Center Extender, it will need a Setup key. The eight digit Setup key will display on the TV screen (and on the front panel of the Media Center Extender if it is a DMA2200). Write down this Setup Key and bring it to your Windows Vista Premium or Ultimate computer. You can enter the number here:

3 Media Center Configuration

NOTE: Follow the steps below in order. You must insert the CDROM and proceed through the setup screens.

Insert the CD-ROM that came with your Media Center Extender, into your Media Center computer. Proceed through the steps displayed on-screen.

Windows Vista Update

If you use a compatible version of Windows Vista you will be asked to update your system via Windows Vista Update. Proceed through the steps displayed on-screen.

Setup
If your computer has automatically discovered the Extender, a message will display, stating that the Extender was found. The type of message displayed may vary. Click on the screen, or select Yes to start the setup.

If your Extender was not automatically discovered, proceed with the following steps.

Open Media Center on the computer and press the up or down arrow to select Tasks. A. Press the left arrow to select settings.

Use the up or down arrow to highlight Extender and then press the up arrow to highlight add extender. Click Enter.

You will see a Welcome to Windows Media Center screen. Click Enter or select Next to continue.

If you have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate and a home network, you can set up this device as a Media Center Extender. For more information on Extender before setup, select Learn More. To proceed with setup now, select Next.

You will be asked to enter the Extender Setup key that you noted earlier. After entering the number, click Enter or select Next to continue. The next screen may ask about rewalls and changing computer settings, click Enter or select Next to continue.

You will also be asked if you want to make media les stored on your PC available. All media les (pictures, music, video) will be shared. You can modify this later in the settings menu. Click Yes and click Enter or select Next to continue. You may also be asked to allow changes to some computer settings, including enabling Away Mode. Away Mode is a power saving mode, that allows your Extender to continue to work even if you power o your computer.

The nal setup step congures your computer to work with the Extender. When the conguration is complete, the message You are Done will display. You can now play music, watch videos or stream online content (subscription may be required) on your television through your Extender. Click Enter or select Finish to exit the setup.

Pour une connexion sans fil votre ordinateur Si vous utilisez une connexion par cble, passez ltape suivante. Pour une connexion sans fil, vous devez installer les antennes. Deux antennes sont utilises pour leDMA2100 et trois pour leDMA2200. Les antennes doivent tre visses dans le sens des aiguilles dune montre. REMARQUE: allumez le tlviseur. Le dmarrage initial du relais pourrait prendre jusqu une minute. Mise sous tension du relais Media Center Extender DMA2200 Branchez le connecteur dalimentation du relais Media Center Extender dans le port dalimentation situ larrire de lappareil. Branchez la fiche du bloc dalimentation dans une prise murale. Un commutateur marche/arrt (On/ Off ) se trouve directement sous le port dalimentation. Mettez lunit sous tension avant dentreprendre sa configuration. DMA2100 Cette unit est livre avec les fiches dadaptation appropries votre rgion. Si ncessaire, retirez la fiche du connecteur dalimentation. Insrez ensuite la fiche dadaptation approprie la prise de courant murale. Branchez le connecteur dalimentation du relais Media Center Extender dans le port dalimentation situ larrire de lappareil. Branchez la fiche du bloc dalimentation dans une prise murale. REMARQUE: le panneau avant du Media Center Extender contient un capteur infra-rouges. Assurez-vous quaucun obstacle ne se trouve entre le panneau avant et la tlcommande.

Configuration de la connexion au tlviseur

Une connexion HDMI devrait tre dtecte automatiquement, selon le tlviseur et les paramtres. Pour les autres types de connexion, vous pouvez slectionner des paramtres de rapport hauteur/largeur, vido et audio, afin doptimiser la qualit de lecture. Votre choix doit correspondre la connexion matrielle que vous avez effectue. Appuyez sur la touche OK de la tlcommande ou slectionnez Next pour continuer.

Slectionnez le type de connexion rseau que vous utilisez (par cble ou sans fil), puis appuyez sur la touche OK de la tlcommande ou slectionnez Next pour continuer. Si votre connexion est sans fil, le systme vous demandera dindiquer le niveau de scurit sans fil actuel de votre rseau. Si une cl de cryptage est requise, entrez celle de votre rseau laide du clavier affich lcran, puis cliquez sur Next.

REMARQUE: pour les paramtres de routeur sans fil, le niveau de scurit choisi dans les fentres de configuration du relais doit correspondre au niveau de scurit de votre ordinateur.

Pour que lordinateur puisse reconnatre le relais Media Center Extender, vous devez lui fournir une cl dinstallation. La cl dinstallation huit chires apparatra lcran du tlviseur (et sur le panneau avant du relais sil sagit dun DMA2200). Prenez en note le numro de cl dinstallation et entrez-le dans Windows Vista, version Premium ou Intgrale. Vous pouvez entrer le numro de cl ci-dessous:

REMARQUE: eectuez les tapes ci-dessous dans lordre indiqu. Vous devez insrer le CD-ROM et procder de la manire indique dans les fentres de conguration.

Insertion du CD-ROM
Insrez le CD-ROM fourni avec le relais Media Center Extender dans votre ordinateur. Suivez les tapes affiches lcran.

Mise jour Windows Vista

Si vous utilisez une version compatible de Windows Vista, vous serez invit mettre jour votre systme au moyen de lapplication de mise jour de Windows Vista. Suivez les tapes affiches lcran.
Insertion du CD-ROM

Configuration
Si votre ordinateur a dtect automatiquement le relais, un message vous indique que le relais a t dtect. Le contenu du message affich peut varier. Cliquez dans lcran ou slectionnez Yes (oui) pour lancer la configuration.

Si votre relais na pas t dtect automatiquement, effectuez les tapes suivantes. 1. Ouvrez lapplication Media Center Extender sur lordinateur et appuyez sur la che vers le haut ou vers le bas pour slectionner Tasks (tches). A. Appuyez sur la touche de flche vers la gauche pour slectionner settings (paramtres). B. Utilisez les flches vers le haut ou vers le bas pour mettre en Ajouter un relais surbrillance Extender (relais), puis appuyez sur la flche vers le haut pour mettre en surbrillance add extender (ajouter un relais). Cliquez sur Enter (entre).

Vous pourrez modier ce paramtre ultrieurement dans le menu Settings (paramtres). Cliquez sur Yes puis sur Enter ou slectionnez Next pour continuer.

Le systme pourrait aussi vous demander lautorisation de modier certains paramtres de lordinateur, et notamment dactiver le mode Away (indpendant). Il sagit dun mode dconomie dnergie qui permet au relais de continuer fonctionner mme si vous teignez votre ordinateur. Ltape nale consiste congurer lordinateur pour quil puisse fonctionner avec le relais. Une fois la conguration termine, le message You are Done (vous avez termin) sache. Grce au relais, vous pouvez maintenant utiliser votre tlviseur pour couter de la musique ou visionner des vidos ou du contenu transmis en continu en ligne (des frais dinscription pourraient sappliquer). Cliquez sur Enter ou slectionnez Finish (termin) pour quitter la conguration.

Conexin inalmbrica a la computadora Si utiliza una conexin con cable, prosiga directamente en el siguiente paso. Si utiliza una conexin inalmbrica, deber colocar las antenas. Se suministran dos (2) antenas para el modelo DMA2100 y tres (3) para el modelo DMA2200. Las antenas deben enroscarse hacia la derecha. Asegrelas con firmeza hasta que queden correctamente colocadas. Cuando se utiliza el dispositivo Extender, las antenas deben estar extendidas.

NOTA: encienda la TV. El dispositivo Extender puede demorar hasta un (1) minuto en iniciarse. Encendido de Media Center Extender DMA2200 Conecte un extremo del cable de electricidad del dispositivo Media Center Extender a la entrada correspondiente situada en el panel posterior de la unidad. Conecte el otro extremo del cable a un tomacorriente. Existe un interruptor de encendido/ apagado situado sobre la entrada de electricidad del dispositivo. Encienda el interruptor antes de proceder a configurarlo. DMA2100 Esta unidad se suministra con los enchufes macho adecuados para su regin. De ser necesario, retire el enchufe que cubre el conector de la entrada de electricidad del equipo. Seleccione el tipo de conexin de red que utiliza, ya sea por cable o inalmbrica, y presione OK en el control remoto o Next (Siguiente) para continuar. Si utiliza una conexin inalmbrica, el sistema le solicitar que confirme el nivel de seguridad de la red. De ser necesario, introduzca la Clave de encriptacin de la red por medio del teclado en pantalla. A continuacin, haga clic en Next. Para que la computadora reconozca el dispositivo Media Center Extender, se requiere una clave de conguracin. La clave, compuesta por ocho dgitos, aparecer en la pantalla de TV (y en el panel delantero de Media Center Extender si el modelo es DMA2200). Anote la clave de conguracin para introducirla en el sistema Windows Vista Premium o Ultimate. Si lo desea, puede anotar la clave a continuacin:

NOTA: siga los pasos que se indican a continuacin en el orden apropiado. Inserte el CD-ROM y avance por las pantallas para realizar el proceso de conguracin.

Insercin del CD-ROM

Inserte el CD-ROM suministrado con Media Center Extender en la computadora y siga los pasos que aparecen en pantalla.

Actualizacin de Windows Vista

Si utiliza una versin compatible de Windows Vista, se le solicitar que actualice su sistema a travs de Windows Vista Update. Siga los pasos que aparecen en pantalla.

Si la computadora detecta el dispositivo Extender de forma automtica, aparecer un mensaje para indicarlo. El tipo de mensaje puede variar. Haga clic en la pantalla o seleccione Yes para iniciar el proceso de configuracin.

Asimismo, el sistema le solicitar que indique si desea que los archivos multimedia almacenados en la computadora estn disponibles. De ser as, todos los archivos multimedia (imgenes, msica y video) podrn compartirse. Puede modicar esta opcin posteriormente en el men de conguracin. Haga clic en Yes y luego Enter o seleccione Next para continuar.

Tambin es posible que deba modicar algunos valores de conguracin de la computadora, lo que incluye el modo Ausente. Esta funcin es sumamente ecaz para ahorrar energa y permite que Extender contine funcionando incluso si apaga la computadora. En este ltimo paso se congura la computadora para que funcione con el dispositivo Extender. Una vez que la conguracin se haya realizado por completo, aparecer el mensaje You are Done (Listo). Esto signica que ya puede reproducir msica, videos o contenidos directamente desde Internet (puede ser necesaria una suscripcin) en su televisor a travs de Extender. Presione Enter o seleccione Finish (Finalizar) para salir de la pantalla de conguracin.

NOTA: si aparece un mensaje de error para indicar que no se estableci la conexin con Extender, regrese a la Seccin 3 y vuelva a ejecutar los pasos a partir de Insercin del CD-ROM.
