Brief Reading 8 Lachrisa Grandberry COM 380- Eye Contact April 23, 2014 This article was so specific

and detailed about vision that it almost confused me. Thoroughly reading the material I eventually was able to connect with Grumets thoughts and shortly after agree. When it comes to attractiveness, honesty, conversation, and life in general our vision plays a really important role. Through eye contact alone a person can develop a sense of so many different feelings and emotions. I have heard it said that our eyes can sometimes tell a story that words can never explain. Famous quotes like love at first sight describes the power and influence that vision plays in your life. Im sure many people would also agree with the finding that staring is completely different from looking at something. The connotation of staring is negative and can be seen as a rude act in America. In the musical Ragtime, there is a part where the young boys expresses that if a person is staring, they have no appropriate home training. However, it is entirely acceptable to glance and look over things. It is second nature to us as humans to observe our surroundings. This doesnt necessarily mean we catch every detail of whatever we observed. Yet, we would have at least seen briefly what may be around us. In the world of love, eye contact is vital. People gaze into each others eyes to get emotional responses. You hope to find truth of passion and love through the eyes. Our sight immediately connects with our thoughts. When it comes to the relationship between our thoughts and vision I find it interesting that our thoughts can create images in our mind that we can simply see right in front of us that no one else can see. Overall for me vision holds a near and dear position for those of us who have it. So much of our life depends on what we see with our eyes. Through vision we make decisions that can

and will impact so much more than a moment of our life. I enjoyed this articles perspective and innovative thoughts on vision. Vision I think is sometimes underestimated. We often dont give it enough credit, and cherish it until its gone.
