The Rural Sports Meet for the year 2009 held successfully here at Raikia Block of Kandhamal

district of Orissa. To make it fruitful, the local committee arranged various sports & games
competitions at different play grounds of Vijay High School, Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandiar
and other schools. Students from different educational institutions of the block including
Jeevan jyoti Mahavidyalaya (college) took active participation in various events.

The concluding ceremony took place at Vijay High school playground where Mr. Manoj
Pradhan, the prison returned MLA of G. Udayagiri present as Chief Guest. The meeting
presided by the local BDO and Mr. Pradhan hoisted the Sports Flag followed by the ouat
taking of participants.

Mr. Rudra Madhab Rao, Honourable Member of Parliament, Phulbani constituency attended
here for the prize giving ceremony to the participants. He awarded prizes to all successful
participants during the celebration. Pratap Chandra Tripathy, Headmaster, Vijay High School,
Jayananda Nayak, Active volunteer and Andreo Nayak PET, Jeevan Jyoti Mahavidyalaya
kept the Sports in proper track.
