KAREN CHEEK ANNOUCES CANDIDACY FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICT 4

EASTMAN, Ga. - Karen Cheek, pharmacist and county advocate, formally announced her candidacy for Dodge County Commissioner District 4 on Tuesday. After much thought and contemplation, and with the support of my family, I have decided to run for election in District 4 for County Commissioner. Our community is fed up with the current leadership and their lack of respect for our citizens. I can guarantee that as county commissioner I will work hard to improve this community. Its time for a fresh set of eyes and change in Dodge County, she said in a statement. Cheek is excited to get her campaign moving forward. In coming weeks, she will be holding meetings within her district to discuss her platform and also to meet with residents of District 4 and listen to their concerns. Karen Cheek is a 22-year resident of Dodge County. A native of Tenille, Ga., she moved to Eastman shortly after completing her pharmacy degree at the University of Georgia in 1975. She owned and operated local pharmacy, Dennis Drugs, for 20 years before settling into retirement. Cheek has been married to her husband Jeff for 32 years and they have two children, Jeff Jr. and Christy.
