CEA Executive Board meeting notes

July 28, 2009 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Attendance: All Exec. Board members are present.

President’s report (Bob Harpur):

• Bob reported that we will need to elect or appoint a new VP to replace


Barbara. Any interested members should contact him. If no one shows
immediate interest, Bob will try to recruit. Discussed need to have high
school represented.

Treasurer’s report (Wendy Zanol):

• Discussed funds and membership goals. We are shifting funding to increase


certain areas in order to draw members.

• Wendy introduced the plans for the new website. CEA is also available on
Facebook. Shaun advised to keep the site simple and therefore easily
updated.

AEA Report (Mike Weaver):

• It was reported that the temporary budget fix restored much of the funding to
education in Arizona, but the new budget is considered to be worse than the
previous one. Encourage people to communicate with the governor’s office to
try and come up with a better plan.

• Mike presented AR site reps training outline. Discussion followed concerning


site rep training requirements and the need to entice reps to attend.
Concerns voiced about the time commitment.

Important Info:

• Super Prop will need two new members.

• AR meetings will be held at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. The next one is


on August 11th at 4:30 p.m. Cecilia will bring snacks and water.

• The new member drawing was held and $100 was awarded to Amy Robinson
from Willis and Jeff Tallman from CHS. CEA has signed up roughly 60 new
members.

Meeting adjourned at 6 p.m.
