To Whom It May Concern; It is with delight that I write this letter of recommendation for Jamie Ney, who is applying for a position in your school. I have known Jamie for the past six years in my capacity as a Director of Teaching and Learning (previously Director of Licensing) at the Utah State Office of Education. Jamie served as an assistant to curriculum specialists and demonstrated a keen interest in and passion for teaching and learning. She was always great to give us feedback about what she would use in a classroom and was often our teacher with technology, procedures, and customer service, to name a few. From the moment I met Jamie she has talked about becoming a teacher and worked hard at USOE to support teachers in their efforts to become appropriately licensed and endorsed. Based on her knowledge and skills, Jamie was given extra job tasks and duties in leading out on programs and initiatives. Jamie is creative, caring, smart, and articulate. She is customer oriented and always worked hard to answer questions, help problem solve, and understand policy fully. We often talked about how she visualizes her classroom and why she wants to be a teacher. Her colleagues often encouraged her to complete her studies and become a teacher, which she has accomplished with excellence. Jamies university professors describe her as one of their best students. They are so excited about the knowledge she brings to the classroom and she often informs the instructors on state policies and practices related to teaching. She is viewed as innovative, responsible, and bright. Jamie utilizes technology well and is patient in teaching others how to improve their tech skills. She works well with her fellow students and brings a keen sense of humor to all situations, along with a genuine caring heart. Jamie was born to be a teacher. I am so proud of her for actualizing her dream. I am fully confident that Jamie will be a highly effective teacher in your school and greatly add to your school culture. I look forward to following her progress as she commits her time and talents to teaching children in your setting. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Sincerely,

Sydnee Dickson, Ed.D. Director, Teaching and Learning, USOE 801-538-7739 sydnee.dickson@schools.utah.gov
