Secret 7: Karmacoma

Grace Buckley

The brief was to design a record cover for Karmacoma, a song by Massive Attack. It had to be image only, as any words would give away the secret of which song the cover is for. This was inspired by the lyrics in Karmacoma: Money like its paper with faces I remember.

I drink on a daily basis. The drink is causing the man to hallucinate and see horror versions of people that he used to know in the bottle he is drinking from. The materials used were watercolours, pen and white acrylic paint to bring out the faces in the glass.

Dialogue Exhibition

Grace Buckley

The brief was to design any number of posters that represent the theme of Dialogue. The posters would then be screen printed, layering on top of another submission in a blind collaboration. These posters will feature in an exhibition space in the Corn Exchange in Leeds.

These three illustrations go on a poster each for the Dialogue exhibition. The two cup ones are a primitive way that humans can communicate, and the bee illustration demonstrates the way that bees communicate to each other to point out the way to the best nectar.

Tigerprint: The Colour of Love

Grace Buckley

The Brief was to design up to 5 Valentines Day cards with an appropriate love themed surface pattern in an alternative colour scheme.

These illustrations were inspired by indulgent food that is related to Valentines Day. Although red and pink are used, they are in combination with alternative colours to appeal to both sexes.
