To Whom It May Concern, I am very interested in the masters in social work program at the University of Johnson C. Smith. I worked for over two years with the District of Columbia Board of Education at Patterson Elementary, and have volunteered for the past year with Johnson C. Smith Universities Womens Basketball team (2013-2014), which gave me the opportunity to experience and enjoy several different aspects of the social work field. I am currently completing my undergraduate degree in sports management, which I feel will enhance my abilities as a coach or social worker. My volunteer background has included the following: coaching and mentoring our youth. I also gained experience in mentoring and helping my peers at the university. My bachelors Degree in Sports Management has provided me with the knowledge of exercise in the basic information of sports management, sales, marketing, facilities management, and sports psychology. I have also taken courses that involved special populations, such as people with different backgrounds and heritages. The Johnson C. Smith University masters in Social work program is a brand new program and through my research I found that the program has the potential of being one of the top programs in the nation. I would be proud to be a student of this grogram and further my educational goals at Johnson C. Smith University. Through my work with children and my volunteer work at Johnson C. Smith University I have developed a compassionate approach and commitment to assisting people in the sporting industry that may need my help.
