New Sherriff Appointed to Dania Beach

Robert Baldwin is the city manager of Dania Beach, Florida, and the former town manager of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida. As the current city manager of Dania Beach, Robert Baldwin appointed Kevin Granville of the Broward sheriffs office to lead the Dania Beach district. Now 43, Granville began his career at age 21 and worked in various districts for the sheriffs office. Included in his resume is service in areas such as Deerfield Beach, Lauderdale Lakes, Pembroke Park, and Pompano Beach. Mayor of Dania Beach Walter Duke praised Granville for his combination of experience and youthfulness. The new appointment is predicted to decrease the amount of chronic crime in Dania Beach, which has been a burden on the city for many years. In the past, the city dealt with an abundance of break-ins, drugs, and prostitution. In addition to being a veteran of the sheriffs office, Granville is a member of the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs of Dania Beach and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives.
