PROCEDURE 1. Measure the gauge length and initial diameter of the specimen. 2.

To set up the apparatus, untwist the hand wheel to move the load frame to its lowest position. 3. Adjust the dial gauge until its tracer pin touch the support bar and set the scale to zero. 4. Install the test material which is the dog bone shape mild steel by screwing it into the lower gripping head. 5. Screw the upper frame to the specimen until its tight. 6. Set the force maturity system to zero by pressing (1) and (2) on force display. 7. Slowly load the specimen by rotating the hand wheel. 8. Read the force for every 0.05 mm. 9. Conduct until the specimen break. 10. Remove the specimen before measuring the final gauge length and diameter and reset the apparatus. Repeat step 1 to 9 by using brass.
