I am an Associate Professor at the University of Western Sydney in
Sydney Australia, a multi-award winning teacher educator, and have been recorded in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World (2009 and 2010 editions). I am a long term ISfTE member having attended at least 12 ISfTEs over the past 16 years. I have been a Paper Group Leader at 3 ISfTEs (Scotland, Minnesota USA and Australia), Chair of the ‘Defining the Global Educator’ Symposium at the 2000 ISfTE in Maryland, USA; key note speaker at the 2009 ISfTE in Utah, USA; and, mentor to new members at the Utah seminar. I was editor of the ISfTE journal, JISTE, from 2003-2006 leading a nine-country Editorial Board and reviewers from 15 countries. In my four years as editor, I increased the number articles submitted for publication by 100%, accepted manuscripts from more than 20 countries, and increased the number of reviewers by 79%. I continue to serve on the JISTE Editorial Board and review submitted manuscripts. I also served on the ISfTE Steering Committee for four years and was involved in the formation of the previous Constitution.
During my time in office I intend to support the Secretary-General
in any way I can in the conduct of the business of ISfTE; develop and implement policy; review projects, policies and seminar sites; and mentor and build leadership capacity within new ISfTE members.
